Pet Sitter Confessional

Effective Date: October 21, 2026

Pet Sitter Confessional exists to have honest conversations about the realities of professional pet care.

Our goal has never been to tell pet sitters what they want to hear, promote a particular way of running a business, or present ourselves as having all the answers. Our goal is to share experiences, ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, and help our listeners become more informed and intentional in their work.

We believe those conversations are only valuable when our audience can trust us.

That trust requires transparency about who we are, how we make money, the relationships we maintain, and the perspectives we bring to our discussions.

1. Our Perspective

We are not independent observers of the pet care industry. We are active participants in it.

In addition to hosting Pet Sitter Confessional, we own and operate Funky Bunch Pet Care, a professional pet sitting and dog walking business.

Our experiences as business owners naturally inform our opinions about hiring, pricing, scheduling, customer service, employee management, business growth, and the broader pet care industry.

We recognize that our approach is not the only approach, and that what works for our business may not work for another.

We strive to distinguish between established facts, personal experiences, professional opinions, and speculation.

Our listeners deserve to understand not only what we believe, but why we believe it.

2. Editorial Independence

Our opinions are our own.

We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable opinions, positive reviews, or predetermined conclusions.

Sponsors, advertisers, guests, and business partners do not receive editorial control over our independent discussions.

Financial relationships do not guarantee positive coverage, and the absence of a financial relationship does not imply criticism.

We reserve the right to question, criticize, disagree with, or decline to recommend any company, product, service, or business practice, including those associated with sponsors or previous guests.

Our responsibility is to our audience, not to the companies or individuals discussed on the podcast.

3. Sponsorships and Financial Relationships

Pet Sitter Confessional may receive revenue through advertising, sponsorships, affiliate partnerships, and other business activities.

We recognize that these relationships can create actual or perceived conflicts of interest.

When a material financial relationship is relevant to our coverage, recommendations, or endorsements, we will disclose it clearly.

We will not knowingly present paid promotional content as independent editorial content.

We may recommend products or services with which we have financial relationships, but we strive to ensure that our opinions reflect our genuine experiences and assessments.

Sponsorship does not grant a company influence over our guest selection, interview questions, or editorial conclusions.

We also recognize that disclosure does not automatically eliminate a conflict of interest. Transparency allows listeners to evaluate our recommendations with the appropriate context.

4. Our Business Interests

Our ownership of a pet care business gives us practical experience, but it also creates financial and professional interests within the industry we discuss.

We may have relationships with software providers, industry organizations, service providers, competitors, employees, and fellow business owners.

We may also discuss companies with which we have conducted business, considered partnerships, or maintained professional relationships.

When those connections are materially relevant to a discussion, we will make reasonable efforts to disclose them.

We will not knowingly use the podcast to disguise advertising for our own business or to misrepresent competitors.

We also recognize that our personal experiences, both positive and negative, can influence our perspectives. We will strive to distinguish those experiences from broader claims about the industry.

5. Guests and Interviews

We do not accept payment for guest appearances on Pet Sitter Confessional. We never have, and we never will.

No individual, business, organization, or public relations firm can purchase an interview or pay to appear as a guest on our podcast.

Guests are invited because we believe their experiences, knowledge, stories, or perspectives will contribute something meaningful to our audience.

An invitation to appear does not constitute an endorsement of a guest's business, products, services, opinions, or professional practices.

We do not require guests to agree with us, nor do we promise favorable coverage in exchange for their participation.

We believe thoughtful disagreement can be valuable, and we welcome perspectives that challenge our assumptions.

We strive to give guests a fair opportunity to explain their positions while retaining full editorial discretion over the interviews we conduct and the episodes we publish.

Our interviews are conversations, not advertising opportunities.

6. Recommendations and Reviews

When discussing products, software, services, or professional resources, we strive to be candid about our experiences and the limitations of our knowledge.

We may recommend products we use, have used, or believe could benefit our audience.

We may also discuss products or services that have not worked well for us.

Our experiences are not universal, and recommendations should not be interpreted as guarantees.

When relevant, we will distinguish between firsthand experience, information supplied by a company, and opinions shared by guests or other industry professionals.

We will not knowingly make false or misleading claims about businesses, products, or individuals.

7. Accuracy and Corrections

We take accuracy seriously. Nevertheless, we will make mistakes.

We may misunderstand information, overlook relevant context, rely on outdated sources, or reach conclusions that later prove incorrect.

When we become aware of a significant factual error, we will make reasonable efforts to investigate and correct it.

Depending on the circumstances, corrections may take the form of updated show notes, written clarifications, corrections within future episodes, or other appropriate public acknowledgments.

We will distinguish factual corrections from differences of opinion.

Changing our minds in response to new information is not something we consider a failure. It is part of learning.

8. Respect and Professional Integrity

We believe honest conversations sometimes require discussing difficult subjects, challenging popular ideas, and disagreeing with others.

We also believe those conversations should be conducted with professionalism and respect.

We will strive to criticize ideas and practices fairly, avoid knowingly misrepresenting others, and recognize the difference between disagreement and personal attacks.

We do not expect every listener to agree with us.

We do expect ourselves to approach disagreements with intellectual honesty and a willingness to consider evidence that challenges our conclusions.

9. Our Commitment to Listeners

Pet Sitter Confessional is built around a simple conviction: the professional pet care industry benefits when people are willing to share what they have learned, including their mistakes.

We are business owners, interviewers, and fellow participants in an industry we care deeply about.

We have perspectives, preferences, experiences, and financial interests. We will not pretend otherwise.

What we can commit to is being transparent about those interests, remaining responsible for the opinions we express, and working to earn the trust of our listeners.

We want Pet Sitter Confessional to be a place where honest conversations can happen, even when those conversations are uncomfortable.

Our credibility is more important than any individual sponsor, partnership, guest, or episode.

10. Questions and Concerns

If you believe we have made a factual error, failed to disclose a relevant relationship, or fallen short of the commitments outlined here, we welcome the opportunity to review your concerns.

Please contact us through the official Pet Sitter Confessional website.

We may update this statement as our podcast and business relationships evolve. Material changes will be reflected in the published statement.
